Gun Galuut Nature Reserve — this natural reserve is located 130 km southeast of the capital. Although it is not the largest park on this list, it is unique in that it contains so many well-preserved and distinct ecosystems. Within its bounds are wetlands, steppes, high mountains, rivers, and lakes, all of which are carefully conserved to keep them in their natural conditions. This natural paradise is home to many rare species of animals and birds, some of which are nationally and globally endangered, including the grey wolf, marmot, Hooded Crane, wild mountain sheep, and the Eurasian Penduline, among many others. Gun Galuut offers a great opportunity for hiking, bird watching, cycling, or horseback riding through the beautiful natural scenery. Entrance fee: 3000₮ per person.
